Our Volunteer Honor Roll celebrates the individuals and service groups that help us through their gift of time and materials.

Our partners in 2010 were:

Habitat for Humanity and their multiple Volunteer Groups

Habitat for Humanity included 21 Plus in the first “Brush with Kindness” cycle of events. The groups visited all of our Residential Sites, 8 Group Homes and 4 Apartments. The incredible gift of time and resources targeted exterior maintenance. The many projects included replacing a shed roof, sealing driveways, planting flower and vegetable gardens, general yard clean-up, replacing fencing, and power washing homes, fences, and sheds.

“We are very pleased and proud of what was accomplished. The houses look wonderful! The Volunteer Groups all worked extremely hard.” – Peggy Burger We thank all of the volunteers who worked so hard and Peggy Burger, Program Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity, for all her hard work in coordinating the event!

FirstEnergy Corp/JCP&L

The First Energy Corp volunteered at one of our Annex Apartments. Through their efforts the living room, dining room, kitchen, and common areas are newly painted. The fresh look of the shared areas perk us all up.

The Lacey Inter-Act Club from Lacey High School

The Inter-Act Club helped us in 2009 and came back in 2010 to paint the interior of our Pine Beach Group Home. Everyone appreciates a clean and well-maintained interior and the eight rooms with bright and clean walls create a positive atmosphere for the individuals who live and work there.

Toms River USY Congregation B’nai Israel Youth Group

The Toms River USY Congregation B’nai Israel Youth Group provided us with blessings by performing outside yard work. The group weeded, raked, mulched, and planted bushes and flowers at a Group Home in Toms River. It was a pleasure to be in the yard after they were done.

Hope Presbyterian Church Youth Group

The Hope Presbyterian Church Youth Group helped us by working inside one of our Toms River Group Homes. The newly painted kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway brighten up the lives of the people living there.
